I got this out of pure curiosity. A lot of Asian-American romance has been popping up and though I still know next to nothing about the Asian cultures, I can safely say I'm enjoying it.
The K-Pop Girl series follows Julee, an American-Korean translator who has recently moved to Korea to be closer to her father's roots after his death and now finds herself working as a translator for one of the biggest K-Pop groups worldwide - and who she is a fan of.
Julee is more than just a translator or someone who speaks six languages - she is a dancer as well - something the idols quickly learn. And that sets the stage for her adventure and her romance.
I have to say that these romances are very refreshing because they could easily be a Disney movie - in the best sense. They are dreamy, and funny, and full of good feelings, and friendships and laughs. They are almost innocent in a way.
I couldn't help falling in love with Julee and her story, the seven idols and almost every other character in the book. And it was nice to learn a bit more about the culture as well.
I can't help but want more - 7 or 8 more love stories just to start!
